Maria was born in Jalisco, Mexico and moved to the United States at the early age of 7 where she completed her AMS Montessori Infant/ Toddler certification.

Prior to working in the educational field, Maria managed her family’s housekeeping business and worked in the hospitality industry. In June of 2016, she accepted a position as a Toddler Montessori assistant teacher and submerged in the magical world of Montessori. Maria immediately fell in love with the Montessori philosophy but above all with the respect and love shown to all children. She later accepted a position as an Assistant director and upon becoming a mother, she decided to take a respite from the world of education.

After staying home for 6 months with her son Gabriel, Maria missed being around other children and accepted a position as an infant/toddler Montessori assistant teacher here at Milton Montessori. She immediately knew that she wanted to pursue Montessori education as a career and completed her AMS infant/ toddler Montessori Certification.

Maria finds joy in serving toddlers as a Lead guide here at MMSKM. She enjoys the laughter of children and the amazement in their faces when they discover something for the first time. Maria loves being able to see the children bloom into their own individual person as they display their characters and personalities.

Maria resides in Roswell, Ga with her 6 year old son who has attended Milton Montessori since the age of 6 months. In her free time she enjoys singing, hiking, reading philosophical books and being in nature.
