Ms. Maripaz Jimenez was born and raised in Lima, Peru (South America) and moved to Atlanta in 2005. She has been working in a Montessori environment for the past 9 years. She shares her life with her husband, Gustavo and her two amazing children Camila (11) and Joaquin ( 9 ) who are both Montessori students. She graduated in 1992 with a degree in Hospitality and Business Administration. Childhood education was always her passion. Therefore, it was only natural for her to begin reading about early childhood education when Camila was born in 2007. She became fascinated with Montessori method and how it cultivates a life long love for learning and began educating herself about its unique style. In time, she realized Montessori is something she wants to do for a living and felt this was truly her call. She earned her American Montessori Society Diploma (AMS) for Primary level in Florida and also certified as a Child Development Associate (CDA). She has also audited for 1.5 years as an American Montessori Society Primary trainee in Atlanta GA. She also worked as a Spanish instructor promoting the multicultural environment in a Montessori class. She believes that teaching is a natural process to humans and we never stop learning. Under the right guidance, children will develop strong foundation in learning that will provide them tools for rest of their lives.
