Just like THAT…summer vacation is almost over. Now is the time to start getting your children back into a routine. If you are looking for ways to get your children excited and ready for the upcoming school year, let us give you a few suggestions:
Ease your children back in to a routine:
A few weeks before school starts, get them back on their school-sleeping schedule. This will probably be the most helpful tip as bedtime can sometime be a struggle. Start by setting a definite bedtime (if they don’t currently have one), and then slowly make it earlier and earlier until they are back on their school sleep routine.
Get to know your child’s school, if this is their first year:
We have information about our Montessori teachers and the Montessori method right on our website. Many schools also let parents come by to meet the teachers and ask any questions you may have. Bringing your children in to see the school before their first day may also ease any nerves they may have.
Review the curriculum and implement it into your child’s everyday life:
At Milton Montessori, our curriculum includes: practical life, sensorial, math, science, language, history & geography, music, and art. These can all very easily be implemented at home. For example, baking cookies together will allow your kids to both help and be hands on. You can also let then decide which mix-ins to add to the cookies, which will promote their independence.
Here at Milton Montessori School, we know how important the first six years of your child’s life can be, and we want your children to excel and get the best preschool education they possibly can.
